Limitations of 316 stainless steel:
Although it can resist general seawater corrosion, long-term use (>6 months) may be affected by chloride ion erosion
Wear or jamming of turbine blades
Leakage of flange sealing surface
Shell pitting or cracking
Typical failure scenarios: high salt spray environments such as offshore platforms and coastal chemical plants.
Short term usage suggestions:
Clearly inform the customer that this model is suitable for continuous operation for ≤ 6 months and requires regular inspection.
If the customer needs long-term use (>1 year), the material needs to be upgraded or protective measures need to be added.
